Hazardous Area Services
Keeping Hazardous areas safe
Amtech Electrical understand the importance of safe working within hazardous areas. We are trained in environments for EX01-04 gases and vapour areas. We take safety seriously to ensure all works undertaken are to a high safety standard. Our electrical contracts are always carried out to CompEx safety and engineering in mind.
We can advise on the legal obligations of companies and institutions to adhere to DSEAR Approved Codes of Practice and inspect the processes involved , the products used and stored and advise on hazardous area classification. We are fully conversant with DSEAR and ATEX and can offer impartial advice on these areas of legislation and the Approved Codes of Practice.
We also carry out routine inspections and testing of all electrical systems in or around hazardous areas. This includes the drawing up of any relevant documents such as equipment registers and hazardous area classification diagrams. We will retain all certificates and diarise each subsequent due date for the next inspection.
We carry out both reactive and preventative maintenance on electrical installations in hazardous areas from solvent stores and petrol filling stations to petrochemical refineries and fuel distribution centres.
All of our operatives are fully qualified and hold CompEx qualifications as standard.
Inspection & Testing
Under the Electricity at Work Regulations of 1989 If you are a manager, director, landlord, owner or guardian it’s your responsibility to ensure that the electrical installation is safe and well maintained. Our experienced field engineers are able to assist in ensuring you remain compliant in hazardous areas with our hazardous area services.
The journey begins with the installation and commission of any electrical system during the build or refurbishment stage of the facility. Electrical equipment naturally begins to deteriorate as time passes by, therefore they need to be regularly checked and maintained.
Our team of field engineers who are fully qualified with a minimum of City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 in electrical inspection testing and CompEx Ex01-Ex04 are able to assist by completing an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) to identify any defects and provide any recommended actions.
We can offer non-conformance rectification solutions to ensure any remedial actions are closed out, leaving your facility safe and compliant as opposed to receiving a report with remedial actions to resolve at a later date.
