Project Overview
Amtech Electrical Ltd completed the electrical works associated with the refurbishment of the Sixth Form dining area at Northwood College. Appointed through Indigo Catering, our installation supported the transformation of the existing space into a modern, welcoming and practical dining environment for students and staff.
The completed scheme combines flexible track lighting with decorative Mullan Lighting pendants, providing effective general illumination and warmer feature lighting above the new dining furniture. Pedestal bench sockets were also installed to provide convenient access to power at the shared seating areas.
Scope of Works
- Isolation, disconnection and removal of the existing lighting installation
- Installation of black lighting track and adjustable track-mounted luminaires
- Installation and final positioning of decorative Mullan Lighting pendant fittings
- Installation of pedestal bench sockets serving the new high-level dining tables
- Electrical alterations within the adjoining office
- Electrical alterations within the dry-store support area
- Final inspection, testing and handover
Challenges & Solutions
The electrical installation was carefully coordinated with the wider interior refurbishment. Accurate setting-out ensured that the lighting tracks and pendant fittings aligned with the room geometry, furniture positions and architectural features.
Black track, discreet cabling and carefully positioned pendants were used to complement the finished interior, while the pedestal sockets provided accessible power without detracting from the new furniture arrangement.
Outcome
The completed electrical works contribute to a bright, flexible and contemporary Sixth Form dining area. The combination of adjustable track lighting, decorative pendants and conveniently positioned bench sockets supports the everyday use of the space, while the coordinated office and dry-store alterations completed the wider refurbishment requirements.
