Project Overview

Enbloc Cleanrooms was contracted—under a strict non-disclosure agreement—to deliver the complete electrical infrastructure for a new cleanroom manufacturing facility in Bristol. The scope included the design, coordination, and installation of all electrical and low-voltage systems, with full compliance to cleanroom standards, ATEX regulations, and industrial manufacturing requirements.

The project demanded seamless integration with the client’s production, support, and welfare areas, while ensuring robust performance and safety throughout the facility.


Scope of Works

Power Infrastructure

  • Managed and coordinated a DNO upgrade, delivering a 630A three-phase power supply to support heavy process equipment and critical building services.

  • Designed and installed cleanroom-specific distribution boards with emergency stop (E-Stop) functionality, allowing instant power isolation in sensitive areas.

  • Distributed power infrastructure extended across support rooms, welfare zones, and office areas for full facility integration.

Data and Communications

  • Implemented structured cabling for reliable data and network communications across production, administrative, and support spaces.

  • Integrated access control and monitoring systems over a secure structured backbone, supporting both security and operations.

Security and Access Control

  • Deployed a multi-zone access control system with door interlocks to maintain cleanroom pressure integrity and contamination control.

  • Installed comprehensive CCTV and intruder detection systems across all zones to support both operational security and compliance requirements.

Life Safety Systems

  • Installed an intrinsically safe fire alarm system designed for both cleanroom and low-risk ATEX environments.

  • Delivered central battery emergency lighting compliant with BS 5266, ensuring safe egress and consistent cleanroom performance.

ATEX and Hazardous Areas

  • Identified and addressed low-risk ATEX zones within the facility using certified hazardous-area installation methods.

  • Used CompEx-certified electricians to deliver compliant and traceable ATEX solutions.

Cleanroom-Specific Design Features

  • Selected low-particulate materials and precision installation techniques to support ISO cleanroom classifications.

  • Sealed all cable penetrations and documented interfaces to meet stringent cleanroom compliance standards.
